The shrine of Shah Sultan Balkhi (R)

The tomb of Shah Sultan Balkhi (R) can be seen near Mahasthangarh in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district. This shrine is on a high mound.In 1718, the tomb was constructed beside the mosque near Mahasthangarh. The tomb has been reformed later. It is legally known, in the eleventh century AD, Shah Sultan Balkhi (R) came here to spread the religion. According to many, he came back to fish.Others say that he came here with a fish-shaped boat. for this reason, he is also known as Mahi Sawar Shah Sultan Balkhi (R). He dies here and after that he buried here.
